Split pea mash for 1 minute

Yellow split pea mash

Ingredients:

4 servings:

600 g boiled water
200 g dehydrated instant split pea flakes
0,5 tsp salt
2-3 tbsp oil

Instructions

Add boiled water to dehydrated instant split pea flakes. Stir thoroughly with a fork.
Add salt and oil. Stir well!
Add roasted onion and parsley to taste when serving

Split pea soup

Ingredients:

4 servings:

1 l water or bouillon
12 tbsp dehydrated instant split pea flakes
1 carrot
1 onion
10 g 20% cream
Dill or parsley
Salt and pepper

Instructions

Dice the onion and slice the carrot into thin rounds. Put vegies into the pan.
Add water or bouillon and boil until vegies are cooked
Add dehydrated instant split pea flakes to the boiled vegies.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add cream and chopped parsley.
Enjoy!

Smoked ham and split pea soup

Ingredients:

8 servings:

400 g dehydrated instant split pea flakes
400 g smoked ham hock
1 onion, diced
1 large carrot, peeled and sliced
10 cups water
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried savoury

2 bay leaves
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In pot set over medium-high heat, sweat the onions and carrots in butter for 5-7 minute.
Stir in water ham hock, bay leaves, thyme and savoury. Bring the soup to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer 15 minutes.
Remove the ham hock. Pull the meat away from the bone, and shred or chop into small dice. Set ham aside, and discard the bone. Remove bay leaves and discard these as well.
Add dehydrated instant split pea flakes to the soup.
Season with salt and pepper. For a very smooth soup, use an immersion blender to puree completely, or leave as-is for a chunkier texture. Stir chopped ham back into the soup, and serve immediately.

Vegan split pea soup

Ingredients:

8 servings:

400 g dehydrated instant split pea flakes
4 cups water
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cups chopped carrot
5-6 pcs potatoes, peeled and diced
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chopped celery
3 bay leaves
4 cups vegetable stock
1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

In a stock pot, over medium heat, add the olive oil, onions, carrot, and celery. Sauté for 5 minutes.
Add the garlic and sauté for 2 more minutes.
Add the vegetable stock and water, along with the salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Add potato. Stir to combine.
Cook for 15 minutes.
Once the potatoes are cooked, remove the lid and turn off the heat.Add dehydrated instant split pea flakes to the soup. Stir the soup well, and allow to sit for 5 minutes before serving

Yellow split pea dip (Greek Fava)

Ingredients:

100 g dehydrated instant split pea flakes
1 cups veggie broth plus 1/4 cup for sautéing
1 medium sweet onion, chopped
1 1/4 cups water
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
3 tbsp chopped parsley
pinch of ground black pepper
1 tsp salt

Instructions

In a pot, pour the 1/4 cup of veggie broth and sauté the onion until soft.
Add the 1 cup broth, water, and salt and pepper to taste.
Bring to a boil.
Remove from stove and use an immersion blender to smooth it out.
Add dehydrated instant split pea flakes. Stir well.
Add lemon juice, stir to incorporate and top with parsley to serve.
Use as a dip or on a sandwich! Or just eat with a spoon!

Split pea hummus

Ingredients:

100 g dehydrated instant split pea flakes
200 g boiled water
2 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
3 tbsp tahini
1-2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp ground cumin
pinch of salt and black pepper
optional topping ideas: extra drizzle of olive oil, chopped fresh parsley, crushed red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, toasted pine nuts, chopped roasted red peppers, basil pesto

Instructions

Add water to dehydrated instant split pea flakes. Stir well.
Add all ingredients to a food processor, and blend until smooth.
Garnish with optional toppings and serve immediately.
